El 22 de Junio es el cumple de

Frank C. Moore II, pintor nacido en Manhattan en 1953, ganador de la Medalla Logan de las Artes y miembro de Visual AIDS Artist Caucus.
Se graduó en el Colegio Superior Roslyn en 1971, donde fue muy activo en política estudiantil. Se graduó cum laude en Yale en 1975 y estudió en París desde 1977 a 1979, año en que su arte se empezó a ver en exposiciones colectivas. Trabajó como diseñador escénico para el coreógrafo Jim Self en Manhattan.
Deudor del surrealismo, sus pinturas representan con frecuencia escenarios y paisajes futuristas, a veces con entrelíneas medioambientales o referencias al SIDA. Sus posturas políticas fueron abiertas y matizadas con imaginería homoerótica. Murió de SIDA en 2002, a los 48 años.

Marta Colvin Andrade, escultora chilena nacida en Chillán, Región del Biobío, el 22 de junio de 1907
Respecto al nacimiento de su talento artístico existen dos fuentes, una de ella señala que nació después de su matrimonio con Fernando May Didier a los 15 años de edad, en el Grupo Tanagra, que ella ayudó a fundar. De acuerdo con otra fuente, fue iniciada en la escultura por la profesora de Artes Plásticas del Liceo de Niñas Chillán "Marta Brunet", Noemí Mourgues.
A raíz del Terremoto de Chillán se trasladó a Santiago de Chile, donde ingresó a la Escuela de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Chile, sus maestros fueron los escultores Julio Antonio Vásquez y Lorenzo Domínguez. En 1943, es profesora auxiliar del Taller de Escultura del maestro Vásquez, obteniendo la titularidad de esa cátedra en el año 1950.
Recibió el Premio Nacional de Arte en el año 1970. Murió en 1995.

El 23 de Junio es el cumple de

Carl Milles, (Carl Wilhelm Emil Andersson) escultor sueco nacido en Lagg en 1875. Estudió escultura en París donde fue alumno de Auguste Rodin.
Vivió en Millesgården, una propiedad en el acantilado Herserud Lidingö en una isla aledaña a Estocolmo donde construyó su residencia-taller que convirtió en una fundación y que donó al pueblo de Suecia en 1936. Hoy en día es un museo. Carl Milles es el autor de la estatua de Poseidón en Gotemburgo, la estatua de Gustav Vasa en el Museo Nórdico y del grupo de Orfeo en la entrada de la Sala de Conciertos de Estocolmo. Murió en 1955.

José Maria Mijares Fernández, pintor, grabador y dibujante cubano nacido en 1921.
En 1938 estudió en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes “San Alejandro” en La Habana, Cuba. Durante los años 1958-1961 fue miembro del grupo Diez Pintores Concretos de La Habana. En el año 1959 hasta 1960 se desempeñó como profesor en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes “San Alejandro” de La Habana, Cuba.
A la edad de 47 años se exilió en Estados Unidos y vivió en Miami, Florida.
Más tarde, entre 1968 y 1973 fue miembro del Grupo Gala en Miami, Florida, EE. UU. y en 1970 comenzó la Director de Arte de la Revista Alacrán Azul de Miami, Florida. Murió en 2004.

El 24 de Junio es el cumple de

Jean Dominique Antony Metzinger, pintor francés nacido en Nantes en 1883. 
En 1903 llegó a París para estudiar medicina, pero pronto abandonó optando por la pintura. Después de haber experimentado el neo-impresionismo y el fauvismo, se dedicó a obras más personales. Amigo de Max Jacob y de Apollinaire, se convirtió pronto en un habitual del Bateau Lavoir y se encaminó hacia un cubismo analítico ortodoxo.
Gracias a su talento como escritor, fue uno de los primeros en relatar las prácticas de los pintores de Montmartre, ausentes de los Salones. Tachado de plagiario por la crítica, en 1911 decidió librarse de la influencia excesiva de los pioneros de la vanguardia y se dedicó a pintar obras más originales, tras lo cual llegaría una fase más analítica. 
Murió en 1956.

Juan Grela Guerrero, pintor y grabador autodidacta argentino nacido en Tucumán en 1914.
En 1924 se mudó con su familia a Rosario.
A los 18 años comenzó a pintar al aire libre. Según su biógrafo Ernesto Rodríguez, sus verdaderos maestros de pintura fueron El tratado del paisaje, de André Lothe y Universalismo constructivo, del uruguayo Joaquín Torres García (1874-1949, quien más tarde le daría clases particulares), y aprendió la técnica del grabado en metal a través del libro El grabado, historia y técnica, del artista rosarino Gustavo Cochet (1894-1979).
Entre 1942 y 1945 participó en la Agrupación de Plásticos Independientes.
En 1948 comienza a reunirse con un grupo de artistas locales, creando finalmente el Grupo Litoral, llegando a conformar una nueva tradición realista pero "moderna y autóctona". Ejerció la docencia en dibujo, pintura y grabado.
Murió en Rosario en 1992.

El 25 de Junio es el cumple de

Robert Henry "Henri" Cozad, pintor, retratista y profesor estadounidense nacido en 1865, uno de los ocho fundadores de la Escuela Ashcan, una corriente artística que tenía como propósito capturar de forma realista las escenas de la vida diaria de los barrios más pobres de Nueva York. Tras estudiar en la Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts en Filadelfia, viajó a París en 1888 para inscribirse en la escuela de arte Académie Julian, donde fue alumno de William-Adolphe Bouguereau.
En 1902 fue contratado como profesor de la New York School of Art, y entre sus alumnos estuvieron Edward Hopper, Rockwell Kent y Stuart Davis.
Sus pensamientos e ideas sobre el arte fueron recopilados por una antigua alumna suya, Margary Ryerson, y publicados en un libro titulado "The Art Spirit" en 1923. Murió en 1929.

Samuel Lewis "Sam" Francis, pintor y grabador estadounidense nacido en 1923.
Sirvió en las Fuerzas Aéreas durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, antes de ser herido en unas maniobras aéreas. Estuvo varios años hospitalizado, y fue en esa época, después de recibir la visita de David Park en 1945, que empezó a pintar. Cuando salió del hospital regresó a Berkeley; era el momento de empezar a estudiar arte. Recibió su licenciatura (1949) y un Master (1950) de la Universidad de California, Berkeley, donde estudió botánica, medicina y psicología.
Francis fue inicialmente influenciado por la obra de expresionistas abstractos como Mark Rothko, Arshile Gorky y Clyfford Still. Más tarde fue vagamente asociado con la segunda generación de los expresionistas abstractos, incluyendo a Joan Mitchell y Helen Frankenthaler, que estaban cada vez más interesadas en el uso expresivo del color. Francis murió en 1994.

El 26 de Junio es el cumple de

Dana Elizabeth Levin, pintora realista clásica estadounidense nacida en 1969. 
Levin nació en Alexandria, Virginia, y pronto se trasladó con su familia a Miami, Florida. Desde joven disfrutaba con la pintura y el dibujo, y asistió a los programas artísticos veraniegos de Belvoir Terrace en Lenox, Massachusetts, a los 14 años.
Se mudó a Italia para estudiar en la Academia de Arte con el maestro del Realismo Clásico Daniel Graves. Durante tres años aprendió las técnicas de los maestros europeos, y tras graduarse se unió a la facultad para enseñar dibujo y pintura al óleo. Se quedó en la Academia un total de 8 años.
Fue influenciada por su mentor, Daniel Graves, y también por Jean-Léon Gérôme, R. H. Ives Gammell y artistas de la Escuela de Pintura de Boston, como Edmund Tarbell, Frank Weston Benson y William McGregor Paxton.

El 27 de Junio es el cumple de

Gracia Barrios Rivadeneira, pintora chilena nacida en 1927, ganadora del Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas de Chile en 2011.
Es hija del escritor Eduardo Barrios (Premio Nacional de Literatura en 1946) y de la concertista de piano Carmen Rivadeneira. Asistió a clases con el pintor Carlos Isamitt e ingresó en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Chile.
Tras el golpe de Estado de 1973, la artista viajó a Francia junto a su marido e hija como exiliados, permaneciendo cerca de diez años fuera de Chile.
La obra de Gracia Barrios se centra en "la actividad humana en la vida cotidiana". Aunque en un principio optó por la pintura figurativa, hacia los años 1960 cambió a un estilo más informal, denominado por la propia artista como "realismo informal".

Arthur Lismer, pintor anglo-canadiense y miembro del "Grupo de los Siete", nacido en 1885.
A los 13 años fue aprendiz en una compañía de fotograbados. Obtuvo una beca y utilizó su tiempo tomando clases nocturnas en la Escuela Sheffield de Artes entre 1898 y 1905. En 1905 se mudó a Amberes, Bélgica, donde estudió arte en la Academia Real.
Lismer emigró a Canadá en 1911, se estableció en Toronto, Ontario, y consiguió un empleo en Grip Ltd., una revista satírica.
La colaboración con cuatro de los artistas de Grip gradualmente evolucionó hacia el "Grupo de los Siete", cuyo trabajo contribuyó al proceso de dar a Canadá una voz distintiva en el mundo de la pintura.
Colaborando con los artistas que se convertirían, en 1919 en el "Grupo de los Siete", Lismer exhibió su característico estilo orgánico, de conexión espiritual con el paisaje, que encarnaría la obra del grupo.
Murió en 1969.

Hoy, 28 de Junio, es el cumple de

Peter Paul Rubens, pintor barroco de la escuela flamenca nacido en 1577. Su estilo exuberante enfatizaba el movimiento, el color y la sensualidad. Sus principales influencias procedían del arte de la Antigua Grecia, el de la Antigua Roma y la pintura renacentista, en especial Leonardo da Vinci, Tiziano y Miguel Ángel, del que admiraba su representación de la anatomía. Trató una amplia variedad de temas pictóricos: religiosos, históricos, de mitología clásica, escenas de caza, paisajes, retratos, así como dibujos, ilustraciones para libros y diseños para tapices. Se conservan en torno a mil quinientos cuadros suyos. Una producción tan elevada fue posible gracias, en parte, a los miembros de su taller que, al parecer, trabajaban en cadena. Además han llegado hasta nuestros días casi nueve mil dibujos de su propia mano. Murió en 1640.

el Conde August Zamoyski, escultor polaco, miembro de los grupos Bunt y Formiści nacido en 1893. 
Fue autor de composiciones en piedra de formas simplificadas y geométricas. Sus primeras obras estuvieron influidas por el cubismo francés y el futurismo italiano. Desde 1920 desarrolló su propio estilo, de signo monumental y con referencias clásicas. En su último periodo realizó obras de expresión religiosa.
Murió en 1970.

El 29 de Junio es el cumple de

Pedro Figari Solari, pintor, abogado, político, escritor y periodista uruguayo nacido en 1861. Una de las figuras más destacadas de la pintura latinoamericana, caracterizado por su estilo propio y su voluntad americanista. 
Además de su actividad como abogado y político, al frente de la Escuela de Artes y Oficios impulsó un ambicioso y moderno proyecto educativo. 
Fue recién a partir de 1918, luego del fracaso de su proyecto y de separarse de su esposa, que decide dedicarse a la pintura. Tenía casi 60 años. En 1921 realizó su primera exposición en la Galería Müller. 
En 1938 realizó su última exposición en Buenos Aires y pocos días después falleció en Montevideo.

Robert Laurent, escultor estadounidense nacido en 1890, conocido por sus sensibles representaciones de la forma humana.
Laurent nació en Concarneau, Bretaña Francesa. Allí, a los 12 años, sus talentos artísticos fueron reconocidos por el conocedor de arte Hamilton Easter Field, quien lo llevó a los Estados Unidos a sus 20 años. En 1908 viajó a Roma con Field y allí estudió con Maurice Sterne, así como con el tallador de madera Giuseppe Doratori en la Academia Británica.
Laurent sirvió en la Primera Guerra Mundial, y luego regresó a Brooklyn en 1919. Fue profesor de Bellas Artes en la Universidad de Indiana enter 1942 y 1960.
Murió en 1970.

El 30 de Junio es el cumple de

Emile Jean Horace Vernet, pintor francés de batallas, deportista y orientalista nacido en 1789.
Era hijo de Carle Vernet, también pintor de renombre. Irónicamente nació en el Museo del Louvre de París cuando sus padres se refugiaban allí durante la Revolución Francesa. Pronto empezó a interesarse por los temas bélicos y representó su idealización del soldado francés. 
Desde 1819 representó escenas de batalla a gran escala. Eligió las campañas napoleónicas, sobre todo en Italia, como por ejemplo la Batalla del puente de Arcole, la Batalla de Marengo y la captura de Roma. En 1839 realizó el primer daguerrotipo del puerto de Marsella. Además de pintar, acompañó al ejército francés durante la Guerra de Crimea, representando diferentes acciones de la contienda y ejerció de cronista gráfico en Argelia. Murió en su casa de París en 1863.

Allan Capron Houser o Haozous, escultor, pintor e ilustrador de libros apache chiricahua, nacido en Oklahoma. Fue uno de los más renombrados pintores estadounidenses nativos y escultor modernista del s.XX.
La obra de Houser puede encontrarse en el Museo Smithsonian de Arte Estadounidense, el Museo Nacional de los Estados Unidos Indios y la Galería Nacional del Retrato en Washington D.C., así como en numerosas colecciones importantes de América del Norte, Europa y Japón. Además la "Ofrenda de la Pipa Sagrada" de Houser se encuentra en exposición en la Misión de los Estados Unidos en las Naciones Unidas, Nueva York.
Murió en 1994.

On June 22 is the birthday of

Frank C. Moore II, painter born in Manhattan in 1953, winner of the Logan Medal of the Arts and a member of Visual AIDS Artist Caucus. 
He graduated from Roslyn High School in 1971, where he was active in student politics. He graduated cum laude from Yale in 1975 and studied in Paris from 1977 to 1979. In the same year he began showing his art in exhibitions. He worked as a scenic designer for choreographer Jim Self in Manhattan. 
Debtor Surrealism, his paintings often represent scenes and futuristic landscapes, sometimes with environmental subtext or references to AIDS. His political views were open and accented with homoerotic imagery. He died of AIDS in 2002 at age 48.

Jean Dominique Antony Metzinger, French painter born in Nantes in 1883.

Samuel Lewis "Sam" Francis, American painter and printmaker born in 1923.
Francis served in the United States Air Force during World War II before being injured during test flight maneuvers. He was in the hospital for several years, and it was while there, after being visited by artist David Park in 1945, that he began to paint. Once out of the hospital he returned to Berkeley, this time to study art. He received both his BA degree (1949) and MA degree (1950) from University of California, Berkeley, where he studied botany, medicine and psychology.
Francis was initially influenced by the work of abstract expressionists such as Mark Rothko, Arshile Gorky and Clyfford Still. He later became loosely associated with a second generation of abstract expressionists, including Joan Mitchell and Helen Frankenthaler, who were increasingly interested in the expressive use of color. He died in 1994.

On June 26 is the birthday of

Dana Levin, American Classical Realism painter born in 1969.
Levin was born in Alexandria, Virginia, and soon moved with her family to Miami, Florida. Since she was young, Levin enjoyed painting and drawing,  and she attended the Belvoir Terrace's summer fine arts program in Lenox, Massachusetts at the age of 14.
She moved to Italy to train at the Florence Academy of Art under Classical Realism maestro Daniel Graves. For three years she learned the techniques of European masters, and upon graduating joined the faculty to teach drawing and oil painting. She stayed at the academy for a total of eight years.
She has been influenced by her mentor, Daniel Graves, Jean-Léon Gérôme, R. H. Ives Gammell, and artists from the The Boston School Painters, like Edmund Tarbell, Frank Weston Benson and William McGregor Paxton.

On June 27 is the birthday of

Gracia Barrios Rivadeneira, Chilean painter born in 1927, winner of the National Prize of Plastic Arts of Chile in 2011. 
She is the daughter of writer Eduardo Barrios (National Prize for Literature in 1946) and the concert pianist Carmen Rivadeneira. Attended classes with the painter Carlos Isamitt and entered the School of Fine Arts at the University of Chile. 
After the coup of 1973, the artist traveled to France with her husband and daughter as exiles, staying about ten years out of Chile. 
Gracia Barrios's work focuses on "human activity in everyday life." Although initially chose figurative painting to the 1960s changed to a more casual style, called by the artist as "casual realism."

Laurent was born in Concarneau, Brittany France. Laurent served in the First World War, then returned to Brooklyn in 1919. He was a Professor of Fine Arts at Indiana University from 1942 to 1960.

In 1839 he made ​​the first daguerreotype of the port of Marseille. Besides painting, accompanied the French army during the Crimean War, representing various actions of the war and worked as a graphic reporter in Algeria. He died at his home in Paris in 1863.

Allan Capron Houser or Haozous, Chiricahua Apache sculptor, painter and book illustrator born in Oklahoma. He was one of the most renowned Native American painters and Modernist sculptors of the 20th century.
Houser's work can be found at the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, the National Museum of the American Indian, and the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC. and in numerous major museum collections throughout the North America, Europe, and Japan. Additionally, Houser's "Offering of the Sacred Pipe" is on display at United States Mission to the United Nations in New York City.
