The Park of Sculptures is located in the Providencia district in the heart of Santiago de Chile.
It opened in 1986 as a result of the June 1982 flood, when the waters of the Mapocho River overflowed affecting much of the city. Several artists, community members and authorities agreed on the idea of creating a cultural area that led to the Park in the damaged north bank of the river.
Currently has more than 20,000 m2 and a good amount of sculptures, space for musical activities and an underground gallery for exhibitions.
