A. Vila

"Los músicos / The Musicians", lápiz y acuarela sobre papel / pencil and watercolor on paper, 100 x 70 cm.

«The world is full of beauty, if you want to see it. In anything, light, person, book, landscape, you find it. Seeing the world so I think is inevitable for any artist. And it inspires you to love life, gives you strength.
To make the Metamorfish series I had to look inside myself. The marine context is due to the sensation of weightlessness proper to the water and the regeneration power of it. My intention is to create a place of dreams, where the characters are stopped in time. Women's bodies are "healed" by water and are reborn in this way, trying to leave behind the wounds of the past. They become strange sirens and each tells their story. The men in the series are musicians and express their feelings through it. All of them coexist in that imaginary limbo, in harmony.»

A. Vila
