"El Árbol / The Tree", óleo sobre lienzo / oil on canvas, 119 x 89 cm, 2012

"El pozo / The Well", óleo sobre lienzo / oil on canvas, 170 x 211 cm., 2010

"Dios del bosque / God of the Forest", óleo sobre lienzo / oil on canvas, 39,25" x 28", 2014

"The Oath Breakers", óleo sobre lienzo / oil on canvas, 57 x 122 cm., 2008

"Floración / Bloom", óleo sobre lienzo / oil on canvas, 30" x 30", 2014

"Abandono / Dropout", óleo sobre lienzo / oil on canvas, 84 x 62 cm., 2012

"Ruiseñor / Nightingale", carboncillo sobre papel / charcoal on paper, 127 x 97 cm., 2010

"Frontera / Border" (detalle / detail)

«Life is so fragile, and death is always near. That was part of the meaning from the title “Solstice” too — that there is death, but then there is rebirth, in a continuous cycle. I find it comforting to think about death that way, instead of as just an ending. (...) I think migrations typify that cyclical nature of life.»
This painting was part of the Aron's last one man exhibition “Solstice” (Sept., 18 - Oct., 3rd, 2014)

"Casa de huéspedes / Guest House", óleo sobre panel / oil on panel, 25 x 20 cm., 2013

«Drawing is more direct, I don’t have to think about color or brushes or mediums, etc. so I think it’s more emotionally direct. Also I think color can be very distracting. Drawing, especially charcoal, in which one can make big shapes easily with a chunk of charcoal, has got to be one of the most primal forms of expression.»

"El manantial / The Source", óleo sobre lienzo / oil on canvas, 127 x 102 cm, 2012

"Ruth", óleo sobre lienzo / oil on canvas, 58 x 61 cm., 2008

«A snowy landscape is an empty place where a subject can be observed out of it’s usual context in order to really be able to see it. A gallery works the same way.  I also like that snow is always new, and will melt, so it’s a very temporary environment… maybe that’s the sense in which it’s personal… I’ve always been painfully aware of how transitory things around me are.  Snow is also great graphically because almost anything will look darker than snow, like drawing on a blank piece of paper.»

"Regreso a casa / Homecoming", óleo sobre lienzo / oil on canvas, 26,5" x 34", 2014

«I have my own ideas about the story behind each painting, but I wonder if I say what they are, will it invalidate other people’s stories? Paintings and stories should have unanswered questions, as long as they are interesting questions, of course. It allows the viewer to collaborate in the story. I thought the show “Lost” was great for that reason. Each week it suggested bizarre possibilities, and rarely explained them. It made the experience totally unique. It would have been a disservice to the audience if all things were neatly tied up at the end.»

"Corrimiento / Landfall"
Carboncillo y pastel sobre papel / charcoal and pastel on paper, 127 x 97 cm., 2009

«I work on un-stretched canvas so I can change the dimensions if needed. Most ideas seem to work as medium sized paintings. When I had the initial idea for the largest painting in the show The Orchard, I knew it had to be big. There is something that only a very big painting can do, and only when seen in person, which is to give the illusion that one could physically enter the painting. But big paintings take so much time — it’s a huge commitment.»

"El Templo / The Temple", óleo sobre lienzo / oil on canvas, 14,5" x 20", 2014

«Life is so fragile, and death is always near. That was part of the meaning from the title “Solstice” too — that there is death, but then there is rebirth, in a continuous cycle. I find it comforting to think about death that way, instead of as just an ending. (...) I think migrations typify that cyclical nature of life.»
This painting was part of the Aron's last one man exhibition “Solstice” (Sept., 18 - Oct., 3rd, 2014)

"Matorral / Thicket", carboncillo sobre papel / charcoal on paper, 50 x 32 cm., 2009
