Paula Rosa [Arte digital]

The female body is the raw material used by Paula Rosa to compose her structures and ruins in industrial or desolate landscapes, bodies like huge statues inlaid with windows and doors conform surreal oniric scenarios. Curiously the eyes, that in these giants have been transmuted into windows or balconies, have an independent living in other compositions. As Paula says, the most interesting are concepts, so without trying to label her images, here you have a selection to enjoy.

Yo no pinto estilos; me pinto a mí misma.»

"Sex o'clock", digigrafía / digigraphy, 2008

"Apatía / Apathy", pintura / painting
Dibujo a mano, aerografiado en PS7 /  freehand drawing, airbrushing in PS7, 2004

"Meta - Morfoses 2"
Segunda serie del políptico Meta - Morfoses / Second series from the polyptych Meta - Morfoses, 2007

Paula Rosa's painting merges the tangible medium of technology with the untangible magic of imagination and dreams. Her work transports us into surreal landscapes and solitary images that stir the emotions of anyone who has ever found themselves empty, lonely or in despair.

"Meta-for", digigrafía / digigraphy, 2008.

«I had never used so many layers in a composition and I had never saved so many files of the same image. Trippy stuff with so many details. Hopefully I picked up the most updated file.
This belongs to a series for a project I'm organizing entitled Earthchitectures.»

"Human DK", digigrafía / digigraphy, 2008

«I‘ve always been fascinated by the human mind, and consequently by the broad and diverse fields of Philosophy and Psychology, which inevitably reflects in my work. Humans belong to a strange species, owner of an inquisitive mind and able to convert whatever information into a myriad of forms to serve infinitely diverse ends. We certainly live in a complex and exhausting condition and that's possibly the price we have to pay for inhabiting a world in which systems maintain a fascinating and somehow mysterious dialogue.»

Der./ Rigth: "O Pensador / El pensador / The Thinker"

«“Labels”, styles or “isms” attributed to my work really don't matter to me and I've always despised them. That's another world of our Universe, populated by critics and art technicians. What interests me is the concept, the knowledge I get in the process and the ability to communicate it all visually. I don‘t paint styles, I paint myself.»

"Ninfa vestigial / Vestigial Nymph", 2005

«Art done by computer is still poorly appreciated in our country, because people have the idea that it is the computer that does it all.»
Paula starts with a handmade sketch and uses digital media to paint like a painter uses his brush. The results in what we known as binary art. "My works remain stored on the computer. The concept of a single piece disappears, because each piece can be reproduced many times as you want. "
"It's a challenge. For me it is more difficult to paint digitally than using traditional media.»
